As GEM HERSTORY Month progresses, we are proud to honor a woman whose passion for fashion and commitment to empowerment have left an indelible mark on GEM CULTURE - Keesha Morisma. Joining us in our inaugural program as a Guest GEM Mentor, Keesha ignited a spark of creativity and self-expression among our ORIGINAL GEMS with her lesson in fashion.
Keesha's session was more than a lesson in style; it was an invitation for our GEMS to showcase their personalities and embrace their individuality. She led them in a fashion show that celebrated self-love and confidence, making it one of our most memorable sessions to date.
Her impact didn't stop there. Keesha furthered her commitment to GEM CULTURE by becoming a Founding GEM Mentor and serving on our very first board. Her hands-on involvement and dedication to every decision, including those within the tribe, set a high standard for our board and left a lasting impression on the culture.
Keesha's influence continues to resonate within GEM CULTURE, as we still move in ways she helped shape. Her execution, integrity, and reliability are qualities we hold in high regard, making her an integral part of our foundation and GEM HERSTORY.
Beyond GEM CULTURE, Keesha has made significant strides in the fashion industry. As the Founder and CEO of Zhuzh, an accessory brand, she empowers artisans from the African Diaspora, promoting culturally significant fabrics and crafting techniques. Her commitment to integrity and representation in the fashion industry is evident in her work, as Zhuzh not only employs artisans from Lomé, Togo, but also aims to expand its reach across the Diaspora.
Keesha Morisma's journey from studying Public Relations at Valencia Community College to becoming a stylist, costume designer, and educator is a testament to her drive and vision. GEM CULTURE salutes Keesha for her major contributions and for being a certified part of our foundation and GEM HERSTORY. We honor Keesha Morisma for her foundational role in GEM CULTURE as both a Founding GEM Mentor and as a Founding member of the GEM Board of Directors. Travay byen fèt.
